Hello!
There are many videos on Youtube that cover the weekly snapshots,
but it is hard to keep track of all the different updates! I decided that I
would go over everything added since the 1.2.5 release.
Tripwire
Tripwire is a new
Redstone-activating block. You make it by placing ordinary string on the
ground and connecting it to two tripwire hooks. It is very hard to see, making it
good for traps.

Emeralds
An emerald is a gem that can be found in extreme hills biomes.
It can be crafted into a solid block like all mined substances. An emerald
block is very decorative and makes a good trophy for your collection.
Emerald Ore, Emerald Blocks, and Emeralds.
Trading
You can now trade with villagers! They you just right click
on a villager to open up a trading box. The villager will say what he will
trade based on his/her profession. Most
trades will use emeralds as currency, EG one emerald for two enchantment
bottles.

Books
By putting a ink sack and feather in your workbench next to
a book, you get a book and quill. You can left click with one of these in had
to wright in it. Clicking sign will turn it back into a normal book, but with a
glowing aurora around it. Clicking done will keep it as a book and quill and
let you wright in is another time. This is good for keeping a journal that you
want to finish before publishing it.
A Book and Quill
Inventory
The creative inventory was updated to make it much more diffident
to use. The items have been sorted out into different tabs, namely Building
Blocks, Decorations, Redstone, Transportation, Miscellaneous, Food, Tools,
Weapons and Armor, Brewing, materials, Survival Inventory, and Search.
The two most important things I think are Survival inventory
and Search. Search as you may have guessed, lets you type in the name of what
you are looking for. Survival inventory opens up your survival inventory! In
the bottom left corner there is an Delete button. You can click and drag
unwanted items into it, or you can just shift-click it to remove everything
from your inventory, including your armor!
The New Creative Inventory
Dispensers
When you put a water or lava bucket into a dispenser, it
will now place it right where the projection hole is. This can be very useful
for traps if you aren’t very good at Redstone wiring.
Dispencers
Coco Beans
When you click on jungle wood with a coco bean in hand, it
will plant it on the surface. You can use this to farm coco beans and make nice
looking ornaments to decorate your house with.
Ender Chests
The ender chest is a very useful tool. You can put any item into it like a normal
chest, and then open your other ender chest and it will be in that one too!
This can be useful if you have multiple houses on a server or when making checkpoints
on adventure maps. The ender chest is also indestructible without a diamond
pickaxe, because it is made of obsidian.
It is advisable to keep another ender chest hidden in case
if someone steals yours. They won’t get the items inside but you will lose your
obsidian and ender eye.
Bows
Shooting a pressure plate or tripwire wire with an arrow
will trigger it. You can make fun games with this, as well as invisible traps.
Enchanting
Enchantments now only go up to level 30. When you open up an
enchantment table, it will have a low, medium, and high enchantment in it
always, nice if you don’t want to block up your bookcases when you don’t have
enough experience. Just note that there will always be a level 30 if you have
the max needed 15 bookshelves, half of what you needed before to get a
maxlevel.
Ender portals
Ender portals have now been added into the creative
inventory.
