12w32a Command Blocks

Hello

In this post I am going to show you how to program a command block, and what other uses it has.
To start you are going to grab it using the give command. Use:

/give astrogibson 137

The command block should pop out as if you have thrown it on the ground from your inventory. Pick it up and place it anywhere as if it was a normal block.

When you are ready, right click on it and a command GUI should open.

the Command Block GUI

You can type in your command as you would do when typing it with 't' only, when your name comes up, change it to @p (at nearest player) so that anyone can use the blocks function.
For Example /tp @P -150 5 1500 will warp the player nearest to the command block to the cordnits    X-150 Y5 Z1500.

You can use command blocks to warp people to different locations in servers the same way as server modification would.

The easiest way to make a teleporter would be to to place a command block in the ground, place two blocks over it, and then put a button on the first block and over a redstone lamp like this. (see picture for better understanding) ----->
Command blocks can also be used to change the time, toggle the weather, banish players to a different region,  and can even be used to say certain things!

If you use the new;y added /difficulty command, you can set certain levels to a harder difficulty in your adventure map.
On thing you can do is attach command blocks to a string so that multiple things can happen. This device shown here sets the time to dark, changes the difficulty to normal, and gives you a sword, some emeralds, and a full set of armour. I use this to play Village Defender with my friends.
Thanks for reading my posts!

Captain Astro out.
